Nursery (Infants & Toddlers)

Welcome to the Unity of the Valley Nursery!

Infants and toddlers from 6 weeks through 4 years are welcome on Sunday mornings during the 10 am service. We would love for you to visit our church and bring your young children to our nursery. The Bible tells us in Psalm 127:3 that children are a gift from God. This trust is vitally important to us at Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center. Both parents and church volunteers play an essential and influential role in honoring these little ones. Children are recognized as a very special gift. We value each of them as unique and special, to be cared for and nurtured, and supported on their spiritual path.

Our Goal is to provide safe and gentle care while taking the opportunity to teach babies through associations and feelings; feelings that later develop into concepts and an understanding of God’s love. We provide both quality care and a secure environment for your child.

The room is cleaned after each use, and is checked regularly to be sure that the floors and surrounding areas are free from hazards. Electrical plugs are covered. Toys are monitored to be sure that all are safe, in good working order and age appropriate. Small, submersible toys are sanitized after each service. Larger toys and equipment are wiped down with sanitizing wipes after each service.

What to bring

Diaper bag or backpack with an extra diaper*

Sippy cup or bottle—labeled with your child’s name*

Extra change of clothes in case of an accident

*Extra sippy cups, snacks, and diapers are available in the nursery

Sick Children

If a child exhibits any of the following symptoms, for both the child’s comfort and the health of all who are in the nursery, we ask that these children are kept at home if they have: Fever within the previous 24 hours, Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours, Any symptoms of childhood diseases, Runny nose with any colored discharge, Sore throat, Any unexplained rash, Any skin infection, Pink eye and other eye infections, Head lice (child should be free of all nits), Continued cough. If a child has allergies which result in a continuous runny nose we ask for a note from the doctor stating this. The same is true of any condition which may appear to be infectious or contagious but is not.

Sunday school classes are held for children beginning at age 5.

We're seeking volunteers to support the Nursery on Sunday mornings and occasional weeknights. Contact us at unityofthevalleyyouth@gmail.com to become a part of the team.
